RORY CONNOLLY MRICS MSCSI
A Family Legacy in Construction
I am the fourth generation of constructors/builders and quantity surveyors within the Connolly Family. My kind, sweet late father Frank was the local builder in Mount Merrion, his father Johnny Connolly was the county Engineer in Monaghan, and my great-grandfather Johnny (Snr) was an Architect and Monaghan County Council Chief Engineer.
I left school after Leaving Cert. in CUS in Lesson Street, and started working part-time with Connolly Construction run by my protective, focused, hyper-detailed orientated, super, and most importantly fun-loving Dad, Frank Connolly. Frank was not only an awesome Dad — he was a great hard-working role model.

EXPERIENCE
San Francisco & Beyond
After helping to successfully turn around the family construction business, I emigrated to the USA and quickly progressed from Site Foreman to Contracts Manager for Concepts In Colours, a local niche Noe Valley painting company.
After two years, my business partner and I opened up a general construction/restoration/painting company — San Francisco Restoration & Painting Company. For the next 15 years, we completely dominated the Noe Valley Castro area complete restoration services market. In that time, we restored over 500 of San Francisco's world-famous Painted Ladies — colourful Victorian homes.
Returning home to Ireland in 2003, I worked for a fit-out specialist firm and a well-established restoration general contractor before establishing South Dublin Restoration & General Contractors Dublin Company to provide quality and professional Georgian restoration services to homeowners and Architects.
After completing over 1000 projects in the last 30 years of hands-on construction management, my career path has gradually evolved into Project Management and Cost Consultancy, specialising in restoration, refurbishment, and new builds in the South Dublin area for homeowners, Architects, and corporate clients.
